A message from the Humboldt County Planning and Building Department:
Dear Cannabis Program Licensee: Legislation approved last year (SB 657, Monning) authorizes the County Agricultural Commissioner to collect and publish cannabis crop production data in a County Annual Crop Report. Cannabis crop production information reported through this survey will be handled with the same confidentiality as the data supplied by the producers of other agricultural commodities. All crop production data reported to the Commissioner’s Office is strictly confidential. Each reporting individual’s data is combined with other producers to provide a total gross production estimate for Humboldt County. This approach ensures that individual data is not identifiable in the report. The Agricultural Commissioner’s Office is proud of the role we have played in bringing the Cannabis industry into a legal market. We are also extremely grateful for the positive working relationships we have built with members of the cannabis industry. It is our hope you will share with us the cannabis production data needed for a first of its kind Humboldt County Cannabis Crop Report. Publication of cannabis crop production data is important as it will eventually help to stabilize the cannabis marketplace by providing information for planning resources needed for harvests, processing, pricing, and transportation. Crop report data users include: agricultural suppliers, credit suppliers, research and education agencies, farm labor contractors and health and disease programs. humboldtgov.org/FormCenter/Agriculture-Commissioner-14/2019-Cannabis-Crop-Report-Questionnaire-142 ![]() If you are paying your property taxes late due to the COVID-19 emergency, you can pay without a penalty by completing an affidavit on the county website. Hello CalCannabis Cultivation Licensing Stakeholders: On Thursday, March 19, 2020, Governor Gavin Newsom issued a stay-at-home order to protect the health and well-being of all Californians and to establish a consistent approach across the state to slow the spread of COVID-19. This order went into effect on Thursday, March 19, 2020, and is in place until further notice. The order identifies certain services as essential, including food, prescriptions, and healthcare. These services can continue despite the stay-at-home order. Because cannabis is an essential medicine for many residents, licensees may continue to operate at this time, as long as their operations comply with local rules and regulations. Any licensee that continues to operate must adopt social distancing and anti-congregating measures and must follow the CDC's Interim Guidance for Businesses and Employers to Plan and Respond to Coronavirus Disease at all times. Notice: PLEASE READ!25 October 2018 "Hello CalCannabis Cultivation Licensing Stakeholders: ATTENTION, PLEASE! FOR NEW TEMPORARY LICENSES ISSUED PRIOR TO DECEMBER 31, 2018 Due to the large number of applications being submitted for temporary cannabis cultivation licenses, the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) hereby notifies prospective applicants that any application for a temporary license received after December 1, 2018, may NOT be processed in time for us to issue a temporary license before January 1, 2019. After December 31, 2018, the authority for CDFA to issue temporary licenses expires. To provide sufficient processing time, please submit your temporary application to CDFA’s CalCannabis Cultivation Licensing Division by December 1, 2018. FOR EXTENSIONS OF TEMPORARY LICENSES PRIOR TO DECEMBER 31, 2018 To receive an extension of your existing temporary cannabis cultivation license, an application for an annual license must be submitted and the application fees paid prior to December 31, 2018. After that date, the authority for CDFA to extend a temporary license expires. If you do not have all the required documentation for an annual license application or are still in the permitting process with your county or city, please provide an explanation for the absence of any required item and submit the missing information as soon as it is obtained. Submitting an annual application will allow CDFA to determine whether you qualify for an annual license or a provisional license in 2019. Pursuant to Business and Professions Code section 26038, a person engaging in commercial cannabis cultivation without a license issued by CDFA shall be subject to civil penalties, and the cannabis may be ordered to be destroyed. If you have questions about temporary, provisional, or annual commercial cannabis cultivation licenses, call us toll-free at 1-833-CALGROW (1-833-225-4769) or send us an email at: calcannabis@cdfa.ca.gov.
